SOFT99 Fusso Coat Wax is an ultra-durable synthetic sealant with class-leading hydrophobic (water-hating) properties. Comprising a fluorine polymer (resinous polytetrafluoroethylene, or PTFE for short) suspended in a synthetic petroleum-based paste, it dries and cures to form a hard protective film that is extremely hydrophobic. As a result, rainfall and rinse water bead up and roll off very quickly. This extreme beading not only looks good, but also tends to pick up and carry away fresh contaminants, which makes routine washing easier and safer. In addition to these benefits, SOFT99 Fusso Coat Wax also produces a sharp wet-looking shine and provides excellent protection against bird droppings, bug splatter, road salt and UV radiation for up to twelve months per application, even on daily drivers. These properties make it an outstanding choice for standalone winter use, and an excellent basecoat for the less durable but more aesthetically pleasing waxes in the SOFT99 range (e.g. King of Gloss and Mirror Shine Wax). As is often the case for Japanese last step products, two different versions of SOFT99 Fusso Coat Wax are available; dark and light. The dark version is best suited to dark solid, metallic and pearlescent colours and to warmer mid-tone colours such as reds and yellows, while the light version is best suited to light solid, metallic and pearlescent colours and to cooler mid-tone colours such as blues and greys. The differences, however, are subtle, and it’s perfectly safe to experiment with either version on any given colour if you wish.
